Housing & misc. updates

At the Pink House, our garden is amazing! We have had so many luscious tomatoes and all sorts of veggies which has been so rad! This thought leads me to housing for TATR, which a few people have asked about. John Zerzan will not be staying with us (boo!) but will be lodging with another speaker, so we have more room at the Pink House! Our house is open to fit quite a few people I think. By that time we will have an extra bedroom, a couch, and a fair amount of floor space for guests. Also, one of my friends and her house mates are able to house I think 3-4 people. Both houses are within 10 minutes of the events in Baltimore. Those interested in housing (either receiving or offering) should send me an email so I can put everyone in contact with each other ahead of the event (feralthought@riseup.net). Also, Dave made a promo flyer for the internet which help distributing would be appreciated. Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey there,
I just received a invitation from an anonymous friend of Kevin Tuckers to come to this gathering so he could beat me up. He said that a lot of people at the gathering would like to see that happen. I have to wonder when I receive these kinds of e-mails from Kevin and his crew (which happens fairly often) what I have done that makes them so angry. Angry enough that they would rather threaten me with physical violence and use verbal violence against me, rather than keep their focus on those in power. I also wonder if the organizers of this event know that him and his crew are encouraging both verbal and physical in-fighting among those who rewild. I’m wondering if this is what the organizers and promoters of your event wish to accomplish? I sure hope not.

Actually it was an invitation to fight, not a threat. If “my crew” are threatening Mr. Bauer regularly, I’m not aware of it and, for the most part, neither are they. I think he has more enemies than me.
It’s funny to me how pathetic his attempts at making rewilding hip are and I’m really public about it.
But the character Urban Scout is sadly convoluted to think that my rampant bashing of him is in any way taking away from my anger against civilization. In fact, it usually comes in the same forms. I’ve sent a number of letters to George Bush Jr from his thoughts on Friends to requests to dissolve the grid, I don’t think he took them as personally as Peter.
I’m an asshole, plain and simple. I know what I stand for and I call shit as I see it, for those who’ve kept up, that’s left me with some tags that are as ridiculous as they are untrue. But that’s how it happens. If Mr. Bauer would like to step out of the internerd world for a moment and try to make a public stand for his thoughts, rather than a cyber-character throne to himself, he’ll find the real world is brutal and that you cut your teeth by getting in these arguments and not freeing yourself from critique by posting within the iron lung.
Shit is fucked up. This world is fucked up. If you talk about destroying civilization: this shit system that has an infrastructure built to support it and smash opposition, that people are willing to fight and die for (or with), you’re going to get shit from every angle.
If you’re not ready to take it from me, I’d hate to see how you’d take it from someone who’s a lot more likely to react violently.
But then again, do you talk about destroying civilization?

this doesn’t really concern me, but i could resist the potential of wasting a few minutes by throwing my thoughts in…
as far as urban scout goes, he’s an internet personality. and when it comes to the end of this culture, the internet and its personalities must be destroyed, bottom line. the way i see it (and many others i have consulted, including persons with no interest in the issues portrayed whatsoever), he uses the aesthetic of hunter-gatherers and the concept of “post-apocalypticism” as an ironic fashion statement to be donned with a wink and a nod to pretentious hipsters worldwide (how APOC doesn’t think this guy is the real racist, i’ll never understand). on a side note, i highly doubt that the dying wish of an animal would be to be turned into some hipster’s puffy jacket – you aren’t honoring the dead, you’re disrespecting the victims of this culture by commodifying them!
along with that repulsive aspect of this e-persona (keep in mind this isn’t his actual personality or interests, but those of a youtube character…) his attitude in many of his short-films and interviews – especially with mainstream press (i am sure i am paraphrasing to some extent, but i wouldn’t be surprised if i am directly quoting either)- is “civilization’s crashing, so fuck it let’s party” … well, personally i say fuck that – bonging beers and holding post-apocalyptic fashion shows while people, animals, and ecosystems are being destroyed is insulting, infuriating, and intolerable. it’s no different than the mindset of the perpetuators of this culture, just cloaked in the tongue-in-cheek pseudo-concern of a “hipster-gatherer.”
urban scout is like a prince in pauper’s clothing, and as far as i am concerned, just because a ruler is in rags doesn’t make that ruler any less of a target for those who want to destroy hierarchy. to that end, i can’t wait for the day when the DSL cuts out forever and this moron’s mockery of the struggle against civilization is lost with blogs/various writings (including mine and those of my friends), internet arguments (again, including mine and those of my friends), and all of the banal unimportance that is the technoculture…
